On April 20, 2026, Singapore will be the first Southeast Asian country to offer the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta AI glasses. Since the public announcement of Ray-Ban Stories in September 2020, the collaboration has progressed to Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1) and Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), of which the latter was released in the US just last year.
This new Gen 2 version is no longer just about recording content and listening to music, but more about being a capable AI assistant in the most convenient way.

The core of their functionality is the integrated Meta AI, which now supports multimodal “vision” capabilities — allowing the glasses to “see” what you see to translate foreign text in real-time, identify objects, or provide step-by-step instructions. For example, you can turn to look at a landmark and ask Meta to tell you more about it; you can also look at ingredients in your fridge and ask Meta what you can cook with the items that you have. It’s very impressive and intuitive; whatever comes to mind, you can really just ask Meta.

The Ray-Ban Metas are a great lifestyle option, coming in iconic frame designs (including the Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner). The Headliners also offer a low bridge option that may be more suitable for Asian faces.

The Oakley Metas are designed for high-performance athletics.

These models feature durable, lightweight O-Matter frames and PRIZM lens technology to enhance visual contrast.

They include deeper fitness integrations, such as real-time performance tracking with Garmin and Strava, and a “Snow Sports” mode that automatically captures highlights and provides live resort stats like speed and vertical descent.

Starting from 13 April onwards, the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner styles, and Oakley Meta HSTN and Vanguard styles will be available for pre-orders in Ray-Ban stores; Oakley stores; EssilorLuxottica retail locations including Sunglass Hut; and authorised optical retail stores.
