If you’ve ever wondered why the FENDI Baguette bag is named as such, just imagine how a Parisian would carry their loaf of baguette — under the arm, sans wrapper, which has somehow become the most chic thing in the world. Well, we’d say the same for the Baguette.
It has become such a fashion icon — most notably for its appearance on television series Sex And The City — that the Italian luxury house has no choice but to go big on the 25th anniversary of their signature bag. This time, they’ve joined forces with jewellery brand Tiffany & Co., for a one-of-a-kind Baguette bag handcrafted entirely in sterling silver, as well as a capsule collection of Tiffany Baguette bags that are set to drop on Thursday, January 5, at 8:30am EST, or, 9.30pm SGT.
First up, this stunner. The exclusive Tiffany Baguette bag is an artisanal masterpiece, thoughtfully handmade by skilled artisans over an extensive four months. The bag represents a partnership between FENDI’s ‘hand in hand’ initiative, and Tiffany Makers, artisans at the Tiffany & Co. hollowware workshop in Rhode Island, which then comes through via certain design choices; the bag is engraved with lilies, the national flower of Italy, and roses, the flower that represents the state of New York.

You’ll notice that the form of the bag is crafted to a specific size and shape modelled after the Baguette, while Tiffany & Co. silversmiths employ an age-old technique to sculpt the floral design onto the bag, all done by hand.
To accompany the unique piece, FENDI and Tiffany & Co. have also put together a special capsule collection of Tiffany Baguette bags in smooth leather, shiny croco leather and silk satin, in medium, nano and pico sizes.
These reference the key codes of the two houses, including the recognisable FENDI FF Zucca clasp, now with a twist as eagle-eyed observers would spot the Tiffany T logo embedded within. Naturally, the jeweller’s trademarked Tiffany Blue™ shade is seen here too, alongside a little Return to Tiffany® charm that accents each bag.
