Fujifilm adds the new X-E5 to its mirrorless digital camera X series

Having gone TikTok viral with its other camera models, Fujifilm is once again setting the internet abuzz with its all-new X-E5, the latest in its X series offering outstanding image quality in a compact and lightweight body.

While the X-E5 retains the classic style of the X series, it is the first in the series with a top-plate that is carved from a single piece of metal. The distinct tapered design on the rear of the top plate helps to enhance the metallic texture while improving the operability of the dials for a seamless and comfortable shooting experience.

Much like its X series siblings, the X-E5 is built with a Film Simulation dial that is newly designed with a precision-cut indicator window that minimises the gap between the dial and body for an exact finish. You can also individually set Film Simulation and image quality settings to the FS1-FS3 positions to easily save your own FS recipes.

Inspired by old film cameras, the X-E5 is equipped with a retro and minimalist “classic display” mode with information displayed simply on the electronic viewfinder.

It is built with a new Surround View function too, that displays the area outside the shooting range as a semi-transparent or line pattern according to the aspect ratio. While looking through the viewfinder, you can easily switch between these two modes using the lever, which also helps to change aspect ratios and adjust the digital teleconverter magnification.

The X-E5 has also improved the detection accuracy of the gyro sensor and adopted a new algorithm that enhances responsiveness to camera shake. It even comes with powerful image stabilisation for comfortable shooting across a wide range of scenarios.

When it comes to shooting, the camera features a digital teleconverter function that allows 1.4x and 2.0x zoom levels. Equipped with the high-resolution “X-Trans CMOS 5HR” sensor, the X-E5 is able to zoom with minimal loss of image quality and deliver high resolution images while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio.

Additionally, the electronic shutter can be set to a shutter speed of 1/180000 seconds at the fastest, allowing you to have highly precise control of exposure time.

Like some models of the Fujifilm X series cameras, the X-E5 is built with a rear tilting monitor that can be flipped upward and forward, facing up to 180 degrees to accommodate a wide variety of compositions, from high to low angle, and even selfies!

Seeking video shooting functions? The X-E5 has got you covered with its ability to shoot in 6.2K/30P resolution as well as provide a tracking AF function during video recording to ensure high-quality and smooth footage.

The Fujifilm X-E5 is priced from $2,099 in black or silver. Availability to be announced at a later date. For more information, visit Fujifilm-x.com.
