As if we don’t already have enough bag charms, Poléne Paris gives us a new reason to get more with their new collection of charms, named The Nanonimals.

The collection features four cheeky-looking animals who care called Pamboo the panda, Piyu the chick, Pigi the pig, and Rodjo the red panda. All four make up a merry band of miniature nomads that you can hang from one bag to the next, bringing fun and colour to Poléne’s leather goods creation.
To create this adorable collection, Poléne has taken the brand’s original design for the Numéro Un and given it a whimsical makeover; creating a miniature version of the bag with its iconic shape through meticulous crafting.

Here, you’ll see that the bag’s distinctive folds have been hand-stitched to the charms to create the animal’s eyes, while the signature round flap for closing has been turned into a nose embellished with delicate leather inserts.
A key design factor introduced for the tiny Numéro Un bags was the use of textiles and alpaca hair — a technique inspired by cuddly toys — to create the soft fur on the Nanonimals.
Accompanying the launch of the collection are two short animation films that bring the Nanonimals to life by the pen of illustrator and director Geoffroy de Crécy. This medium, used by Poléne for the very first time, offers a whole new way for the brand to introduce its collection and the endearing little creatures involved.
