Ray-Ban’s latest innovation is a frame that changes colour according to the light. It’s created together with Transitions, using Transitions technology to achieve this marvel.
Aptly named Ray-Ban Change, the silhouettes available include the Original Wayfarer and its contemporary cousin, the Wayfarer Oval, all coming in both sun and optical styles.
Each frame holds colours and patterns, which are created using Transitions photochromic dyes. These dyes activate quickly when exposed to UV light, and these pigments make each pair unique, with no two pairs being exactly the same. As the light gets stronger, so does the pigment. And with Transitions technology, the frame activates within seconds in sunlight, and fades back within minutes indoors.
Ray-Ban Change combines the traditional handcrafting of cellulose acetate with this new innovation, which is designed to sync with the light. The frames are fitted with Transitions GEN 8, which is Ray-Ban’s clearest and fastest lenses, great for everyday wear. They also block 100% UVA & UVB rays and filter blue-violet light both indoors and outdoors.
