Since its success in Paris at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and its subsequent showing across London, Shanghai, New York, Tokyo, Riyadh, and Chengdu, the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition is set to enamour a new crowd at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, from 19 April to 13 July 2025.
Curated by Florence Müeller, this new chapter celebrates more than 75 years of creative effervescence that is conveyed through an immersive scenographic narrative, conceived by Shohei Shigematsu, a partner of global architectural firm, OMA.
The exhibition traces the history of Dior up to the present day, from its triumphant New Look to its contemporary reinventions, while offering an unprecedented perspective on themes that are dear to the House like Christian Dior’s love of flowers and gardens, the excellence of the Ateliers, and the fascination for balls as well as exceptional parties.
This journey is accompanied by haute couture models and archive documents, alongside dialogues with the works of leading Korean artists such as HyunJoo Kim, Soo Sunny Park, and Zadie Xa.
For the first time, you’ll also get to see the space dedicated to Lady Dior with reinterpretations designed by artists from the Korean art scene — nine for the Dior Lady Art project and 17 for the Lady Dior As Seen By concept.
In addition to the history of Dior fashion, you get to experience the passion cultivated for the art of the Dior perfume which is transposed through enchanting bottles, portraits and objects, as well as dresses worn by the ambassadors of the iconic fragrances, such as Rihanna for J’adore and Natalie Portman for Miss Dior.
