Over 10 years ago, Louis Vuitton launched its first collaboration with celebrated industrial designer Marc Newson to create a limited-edition biomorphic rucksack in 2014, and an exclusive glass bottle for Louis Vuitton fragrances in 2016.
In 2016, the Maison and Marc Newson launched the Horizon, a suitcase that captures the bold, sleek lines and innovative materials that define his work, while also reflecting his own experiences as a seasoned traveller.

Now, to mark the 10th anniversary of this collaboration, Louis Vuitton has unveiled the new Horizon Aluminum, the House’s first aluminium suitcase that perfectly embodies Louis Vuitton’s Art of Travel and Marc Newson’s creative vision.
The shell is created through a series of stamping and laser-cutting processes, which allows aluminium sheets to be shaped whilst retaining the rounded curves that form the signature features of the Horizon suitcase.

It then goes through the final stage of the stamping process which involves creating embossed patterns in the aluminium to reinforce the case’s structural rigidity. To preserve the purity of the design, traditional rivets have been replaced by an ultra-thin frame system that is attached to the shell — a first in luggage design.
Traditional external hinges have been replaced by innovative concealed hinges which are integrated into the interior of the suitcase without taking up any additional space. The interior capacity has also been optimised and designed to accommodate essentials and personal belongings.
The Trolley system is located on the outside of the case and the interior lining is thermoformed to create a perfectly flat main compartment, providing unrivalled capacity, alongside the main compartment which features two retaining straps and the zipped upper compartment with a zipped pocket.

Its innovative extra-wide telescopic handle provides exceptional grip and outstanding ease of rolling, while the enlarged wheels, crafted from a flexible material, helps to absorb shocks and vibrations to ensure a smooth and noise-free experience.
In addition to its highly resistant shells and frame, the Horizon Aluminium is fitted with TSA-certified locks to better facilitate suitcase checks during security inspections, and comes with a protective cover that protects the suitcase during storage.
You’ll find a leather luggage tag too, that can double as a bag hook to secure any extra bag on top of the suitcase.

Alongside the Horizon Aluminum is the Vanity Case, which features the same aesthetic and technical design cues such as the aluminium embossed with the Monogram, no rivets, an ultra-slim frame, concealed hinges, an ultra-slim TSA combination lock, and VVN or leather black trim.
On the interior, you’ll see the patch pocket on the base, two small patch pockets at the front, and a central divider with a zipped pocket that is fully removable via a press-stud system, as well as an elastic strap on the back of the case to easily secure it to the suitcase’s telescopic handle.
