Rimowa has extended its personalisation service, Rimowa Unique, to its Original range. It was previously available only for the Classic collection. Owners can now choose colourful accessories to make their suitcases look less like everyone else’s, whether they’re buying a new case or customising one they already own.
Three parts can be swapped: the wheels, the handles and the leather address tag. Each comes in up to 12 shades. Ten are permanent, including Ocean, Clover, Cactus, Taupe, Cognac, Rose, Orchid, Paprika, Clementine and Sunflower, and two are seasonal, Grape and Cloud. They can be matched tone on tone or deliberately clashed.
The service launches worldwide today. The Original handle set costs $430 and is sold only in stores. The D65 and D50 wheel sets are $230 each, and the address tag is $130. Wheels and tags can be bought online or in-store, with free installation by Rimowa specialists.
Rimowa has paired the launch with a holiday campaign that unfolds inside a customised Original suitcase. Each story shows a tiny, handcrafted world made from clay, paper, felt and wood, captured in stills and stop-motion films. See some of the adorable images below.
