G-Shock Turns Its First Watch Into a Slimmer, Softer Analog

Casio has launched the G-Shock 2500 series, a new family of analog watches that revisits the brand’s original model. The GMC-2500 and GAC-2500 keep the toughness G-Shock is known for but wrap it in a calmer, more minimal look.

The launch campaign, “Toughness, Refined,” was directed by Tokyo-based artist YOSHIROTTEN. Its visuals have a weightless, floating quality that suits the series’ quiet style.

The design is a gentler take on the brand’s rugged heritage. G-Shock debuted in 1983 with the DW-5000C, built to withstand shocks, and the 2500 series honours that history with softer, rounder lines. The curved case plays with light and shadow as it moves, while the signature button guards and the sculpted octagonal-round bezel give it a crisp, readable face.

A three-cell Multi-Mission Date window at 3 o’clock switches between the date, mode, stopwatch minutes and settings. Once you’ve set the date, the calendar adjusts itself automatically until 2099.

There are three versions. The GAC-2500 is all resin and aimed at everyday wear, the GMC-2500 adds metal accents for a smarter look, and the GMC-2500D has a full metal bracelet and is the most upscale of the three.

Launching on November 7, 2026, the new 2500 series will be available online from 11am and in stores, following store operational hours.
