The dazzling beauty of Ibiza is overwhelming in the best way possible. Distinctly Mediterranean, brimming with character, its traits are unique. While nature plays a part, it’s a well of grandeur, entertainment and culinary offerings just waiting to be discovered.
Ibiza is a sight for sore eyes; a place where pleasing sand dunes, tall waving palm trees and pristine beaches are noticeable from afar. Everything entices and greets the visitor from a multitude of angles. But looking beyond the location’s natural charm, hotels and nightlife are truly its biggest draw. Over time, the isle has accelerated its reputation as having the very best of both, world-class luxury resort hotels for electrifying days and nights, and legendary nightclubs. A local resident, who works as a driver, perfectly sums it up during a brief conversation with NYLON Singapore, when he refers to the isle as “local but global”.
Destino Five Ibiza
If you’re planning a trip to this Spanish island, consider a stay at the affluent retreat, Destino Five Ibiza, which is currently one of the most vibrant hotspots there. With a total of 159 rooms and suites, each space is designed using contemporary aesthetics. Having stayed a couple of nights, the sense of ease and convenience immediately took effect, gone was any trace of stress or irritability. Instead it was time for immersion, relaxation and enjoyment.Â
The rooms and suites are perfect for entertainment and holiday, with various setups designed for individuals or shared experiences with your bestest mates. With the combination of the cherry-shaped pool and the mesmerising view that overlooks Playa Pacha, it’s clear that this is no place to spend an hour or two, more like several hours, if not all day, such is the lavishness on offer.Â
Dining at Destino Five Ibiza
Not surprisingly fine dining is at the fingertips. Designed on a striking finca-style terrace, Cielo restaurant’s daily breakfast through to lunch meals are authentic. With a mouthwatering menu, you can order everything between toast and cereals, to lobster paella and braised angus short ribs. A terrific range and high quality are both key to what is served in this cosy eatery.Â
Then from 8pm, there’s the exquisite Elia restaurant, which is a Greek experience on a breezy terrace by the sea. Expect a sophisticated and inventive menu and a perfectly attentive service. Not only aimed at hotel guests, the restaurant operates independently and visitors from outside Destino Five Ibiza are free to walk in. It has some of the best views of the island with Dalt Villa and Formentera visible from its terrace.Â
Pacha Ibiza
No trip to the island is made complete without a visit to the renowned nightclub, Pacha Ibiza. The pulsating vibe is sensational. Established in 1973, Pacha Ibiza does more than live up to the hype, and it delivers beyond expectation. There are several floors to digest, and the hours fly by in no time. The venue has also earned its status as the most sustainable nightclub in the world, 100% powered by green energy.
Across decades of success, Pacha Ibiza has hosted pristine, cross-cultural lineups of talent. Early August saw a star-studded string of DJs graze the decks, as Paco Osuna, Max Dean, Melanie Ribbe & Yugo Sanchez, Luciano, Loco Dice, Prospa, Bora Uzer, Purple Disco Machine, Sam Oui, Solomun and Four Tet performed to enthused audiences.Â
Wine & Dine at Pacha Ibiza
Award-winning Paradiso Bar reimagines the island’s pre and post-party ritual with a spectacular range of mixers and cocktails expertly prepared by the bartenders who demonstrate a wealth of expertise. There’s also Pacha Restaurant, which is a vibrant late-night destination tucked inside Pacha Ibiza Nightclub. It offers a stylish Japanese-Mediterranean sharing menu, complete with more tasty cocktails, live DJ sets (so the music never stops) and even club entry so you don’t have to worry about that.
Two days in Ibiza is all it takes to get deeply hooked. This location of elegance, glamour and exotic vibes makes it a superior, addictive treat of the compulsive type. Add to that, the island’s universal appeal to the broadest palette of people from around the globe is extraordinary. The power to attract the most diverse range of travellers, working professionals and creative talent makes it the ultimate destination.Â
