If you’re a collector of Swatch’s BioCeramic MoonSwatch collection, you won’t want to miss out on the new MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE watch that’s launching to celebrate the upcoming Pink Moon.
With bright pops of pink, this new 42mm MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE watch is definitely eye-catching. Aside from the usual chronograph function, there will also be a moon phase indicator at the 2 o’clock subdial, featuring two pink moons that can glow pink in the dark thanks to the Super-LumiNova coating. If you manage to snag one of these watches, remember to expose it to UV light to see a secret detail on the moon phase mask!
The black BioCeramic bezel features a pulsometer scale with white markers, and we get pink hour indices coated with the same Super-LumiNova coating for a pink glow. The 2 o’clock pusher features an embossed heart, in a nod to the pulsometer. To use pulsometer scale, all one has to do is start the chronograph while counting 30 beats of their heart from their pulse. Then, the person’s heart rate in beats per minute can be calculated from the scale.
Just like all the other BioCeramic MoonSwatches, the MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE uses Swatch’s patented BioCeramic material, which is a mix of two-thirds ceramic and one-third biosourced material from castor oil.
The watch comes with a pink velcro strap, and the Omega X Swatch mission statement is embossed into the caseback which also features a gorgeous moon in various shades of pink.
It won’t be as simple as walking into a store to get this watch, however. Starting from 1 April, the themed cars that travelled the world with the original MoonSwatch collection have been miniaturised and will “travel” to selected swatch stores that are selling the MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE watch.
Keep an eye on Swatch’s social media channels to figure out where the Rolling Planets are to find the store that have the watch in stock. Similar to the BioCeramic MoonSwatch collection, each person will only be able to purchase one watch per day and per sales location.
