Bottega Veneta introduces Alta, its new fragrance collection

The collection reimagines Italy as a whole in dialogue with the world and at the core of the collection lies the concept of the “Intrecciato duo”, which weaves together one ingredient from the House’s country of origin with another from elsewhere in the world, to express a cross-cultural exchange through scent.

Expect scents marked by a contrast between lightness and richness, balancing citrus, aromatic, and freshness with woods, resins, and warmth, as well as unexpected accords such as ‘stracciatella’, with its milky vanilla and chocolate notes.

Here’s a closer look at the scents.

  • Always Now: Features the vibrancy of Italian basil accord in the refined intensity of vetiver Bourbon essence from Madagascar
  • Montebello: Inspired from the House’s atelier gardens in Veneto, rooted in the brightness of blood orange and layered with the delicacy and depth of North African neroli
  • Balliamo: Evoking a warm summer evening, this scent combines lush Italian white fig with the resonance of American cedarwood
  • Bare Morning: Offers the powdery softness of Italian talco accord with the elegance of Oceania sandalwood for an intimate and skin-like encounter
  • Slow Rise: Blossoms with late summer’s roses and with French clary sage
  • Ricordami: Reimagines childhood nostalgia with the scent of stracciatella ice cream unexpectedly grounded by oakwood
  • Moment After: Provides Italian leather accords with the smooth warmth of vanilla to suggest subtle sensuality
  • Night Sounds: Merges Italian saffron accord with Vietnamese benzoin for a warm, resinous, nocturnal feeling
  • Velvet Steps: Combines syrupy Italian plum accord and rich enveloping Spanish labdanum
  • Crepuscolo: Contrasts the salty brightness of Fior di Sale and the deeper tones of South Asian oud to evoke the moment of dusk

On the bottle, you’ll find the signature intrecciato leather weave translated into a sculptural glass bottle, which reinterprets its iconic diagonal rhythm. To maintain a visual continuity, the recycled glass bottle is finished with a wooden cap and gold-finished ring that references Venetian architecture and fine jewellery craftsmanship.

The Alta collection will be available from June at Bottega Veneta boutiques and online at bottegaveneta.com.
