Margaret Qualley stars in Chanel’s holiday campaign, which brings a wintry makeup collection inspired by life in the Alps. Chanel’s makeup studio built the range around the contrasts of mountain life, from bright white peaks and cosy interiors to the changing light as day turns to night and outdoors gives way to indoors. The idea is to travel light with a few essentials: a hint of glow for the skin, something for the lips and a fragrance reapplied through the day. The result is a Parisian polish warmed by winter light, with luminous skin, eyes in warm tones and high-shine lips that are hard to ignore.
The new season’s makeup EXCLUSIVE CREATIONS are perfectly dressed for a trip to the Alps. Each product is embossed with a winter motif and comes in a soft white pouch with gold at the edges. And when you turn in CHANEL’s signature black lacquer case, it appears as if nestled in snow. Here are the key pieces from Chanel’s holiday makeup collection:
Above: Neige d’Or ($171) is a white illuminating powder with a golden shimmer. Swept over the high points of the face, it gives the glow of fresh snow.
Mont Rose ($97) is a satin rosewood blush from the Joues Contraste Intense line, embossed with a snowy mountain pattern. It leaves cheeks looking lightly chilled by the cold.
Ombre d’Or ($140) is a four-shade eye palette where each colour has a distinct purpose. A satin taupe shapes the socket, pearly gold and deep brown add definition, and a pink topcoat adds a touch of light.
The Rouge Coco Hydra Gloss trio ($203 for set of 3) has three new hydrating glosses: Étincelle, a pearly gold; Givre, a white with a hint of gold; and Aura, a rosy peach exclusive to the set. Wear them alone or over lipstick.
Above: LE VERNIS ($48) is presented in two new pearlescent shades: Scintillance, a cool gold, and Blanc Alpin, a white with gold.
Above: La Crème Main ($135), in a soft white case, is a hand cream made for recovering after a day in the cold. It hydrates continuously, softens skin on contact and leaves a beautiful velvety finish.
