For the holidays, Loewe has created a collection based on Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, covering bags, accessories, ready-to-wear, fragrance and leather goods. The film, released by Disney in 1993, was made with stop-motion animation, handmade puppets and tiny sets, a patient, tactile process that mirrors the craft Loewe has refined over 180 years.

The designers worked with the film’s archive, including original sketches and puppets of Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero and other characters. They then reworked that world using Loewe’s signature techniques, such as leather marquetry, embroidery, print and enamel. The result is a mix of unusual shapes and layered materials that Loewe describes as wearable surrealism.

A campaign film stars brand ambassadors Eva Victor and David Jonsson, along with Sandra Bernhard and Jordan Firstman. Set in a strange, shop-like building with snow falling outside, it follows the cast, led by the Giant Snake, as the store’s windows, fitting room and stairs warp into a dreamlike space of distorting mirrors, striped walls and upside-down steps. Paul Kooiker photographed still lifes of the bags, charms and scarves in fantastical settings, and a short documentary shows Burton sketching and discussing the film’s simple story and the teamwork behind it.
See the full collection at Loewe’s official website, and shop from 12 November in Loewe stores and online.
