CHANEL Beauty unveils its Rouge Noir collection fit for a queen

Born from the creative genius of the legendary Karl Lagerfeld and Creative Directors Dominique Moncourtois and Heidi Morawetz, the Rouge Noir shade was created the night before the 1994/95 Autumn-Winter Ready-to-Wear show, when these titans were experimenting with CHANEL nail polishes.

The daring idea to mix red and black together brought out the perfect blend that is Rouge Noir to become a shade that cannot be defined but is timeless, avant-garde, classic, and the very definition of chic.

Now, this audacious shade is reinvigorated into a makeup collection solely dedicated to the colour, under the creative vision of Ammy Drammeh.

Created exclusively for this collection, the Rouge Noir Confidence ($150) is a generously sized palette that uses the iconic Rouge Noir colour scheme, featuring four shades namely the Magenta, the Pearly Rosy White Highlighter, the Sienna Red with a Pink Shimmer, and the Mauve Pink.

For the eyes, the collection includes Mascara Noir Allure ($77), a mascara which offers a deep Rouge Noir colour for an intense look, packaged in a limited-edition Rouge Noir case that comes with an iconic click mechanism; the Ombre Essentielle ($63 each), which comes in a duochrome metallic grey or satiny mauve brown; and the Stylo Yeux Waterproof, a long-lasting eye pencil to outline the eye for an intense look in either Rouge Noir ($47) or a satiny silver grey Gris Graphite ($46).

You can also top off your look with the Baume Essentiel ($74), a multi-use melting balm for applying highlighting touches in the new fresh and soft mauve pink shade aptly called Cute, which gives a sheer and pearlescent look when applied.

For the first time on the lip front, the Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick adds the Rouge Noir ($75) shade to its line-up, with a limited-edition case of the same colour. It is joined by three additional new shades ($74 each) — Irrévérente (a mauve), Effrontée (a crimson pink), and Audacieuse (a brick brown).

There’s also a duo of contrasting Rouge Allure Laque shades available in Ultimate ($70), an intense warm rosewood; and Rouge Noir ($74).

Rounding up the collection are three new Le Vernis ($48 each) shades: the limited-edition, iconic Rouge Noir, Moderniste with its neutral grey, and Performer, a vibrant magenta.

To commemorate the iconic colour, you can also find a trio of brushes ($212) in Rouge Noir as part of the collection.

The Rouge Noir collection is now available at all CHANEL Fragrance and Beauty boutiques and counters, as well as online at chanel.com.
